China CDN: CDNsunA quick introduction to CDNsun, one of our top performers in the most recent CDN test
In our recent CDN performance test, CDNsun made it to the top 5 in each of the two analysis. CDNsun achieved the best latency speed without actually having physical servers in China. This article gives you a quick overview over CDNsun, its business model and everything else you need to know.
According to CrunchBase, CDNsun was founded in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2012. In addition to the headquarter in the Czech capital, CDNsun also has an office in the US in Fort Lauderdale.
CDNsun explicitly positions itself as affordable CDN for small to medium sized companies and websites with currently 70 POPs all around the world. It’s especially well covering Europe and Australia with many more POPs there than competitors.
Service and price
CDNsun provides affordable CDN services for the masses. The pay-as-you-go pricing model makes sure that small and medium sized websites can use the CDN and only pay for what they are actually using.
The prices for the various POPs vary, so you will pay anywhere between USD 3 and USD 15.9 for 100GB, the real rate will be somewhere in the middle. You can find out more about pricing on CDNsun’s pricing page: http://cdnsun.com/pricing
CDNsun and China
CDNsun doesn’t have POPs in Mainland China, but has a great amount of POPs in the special administration zones and countries around it. This way you get very competitive latency speed in Shenzhen even though CDNsun’s server is actually in Hong Kong.
For bigger websites with Mainland China as a main target area, this probably isn’t the ideal solution. For all other websites, however, CDNsun is definitely worth considering given the low prices and the good coverage all around the world.
This article is based on the following articles and websites:
CDNsun is a young but rapidly growing company with focus on small to medium sized companies and websites. The prices are very competitive and so is the speed in China. With its pay-as-you-go pricing model it seems to be the perfect fit especially for smaller websites without the traffic needed to get good rates with the bigger CDN service providers.
